This guide features ten family-friendly and easy-paced short
walks across the North Pennines, England. Designated an Area of
Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1988, it’s Britain’s second largest
at almost 770 square miles. Featuring open heather moor and
peatland, shaped by rivers like the Wear and the Tees, it’s a blend
of rugged fells, gentle dales, and historical sites like Hadrian’s Wall.
Since 2015, it’s been a UNESCO Geopark. |
